Yesterday I had the absolute joy of visiting the Beryl Cook exhibition, and I can’t stop thinking about it! Walking into a room full of her vibrant, playful paintings was like stepping into a world where everyday life is celebrated with humour and heart. The energy in her work is infectious, every character, every scene just bursts with personality and warmth.
I left the exhibition feeling so inspired and genuinely excited to get back to my own art. There’s something about Beryl Cook’s unapologetic style and her love for people-watching that really reminded me why I love to paint quirky, whimsical scenes myself. It was a real reminder to embrace what makes your art unique and to find joy in the process.
If you ever get the chance to see her work in person, I can’t recommend it enough! Has anyone else here been to a show recently that left you buzzing with inspiration? I’d love to hear about it!
