Hassle free return windows are gonna get longer for high AOV products.
Why 30 days? Why is a customer pressured to get satisfaction in 30 days?
People buy so many things online
They sometimes forget to use something. So, they just return it if it's in the window.
Or it may take too much effort to see the desired result.
With a much longer hassle free return window 3 things happen:
1. People have more confidence buying
2. Return rates go down
3. Purchasers eventually get the desired results leading to more positive experiences
We implemented this with a client back in October.
I wish I could say sales sky rocketed because of it. They didn't.
Some improvement.
But, refund rates have also gone down.
Do we have to wait a year for refund rates to normalise again? I suspect not.
By that time purchasers have either gotten to grips with the product and have had a happy, un-rushed, experience.
Or they've just forgotten about it and never initiate the return.
Who knows, maybe they'll keep the product for life then and make good use of it down the line
