Burnout isn’t from too much work, It’s from too little Impact
Most people don’t burn out because they’re doing too much. They burn out from lack of Impact! Life drains from the veins of Highly capable people in environments that don’t match their values. They compensate. They over-function. They try to “make it work.” And slowly… they start questioning themselves instead of the system. That’s the trap. Clarity isn’t about doing more or trying harder. It’s about seeing what’s actually happening, in all its discomfort and disruption. Not softening it to keep others comfortable. But naming it. Reality-checking it. Telling the truth about it. Even when that truth changes EVERYTHING! I am curious, where do you find yourself currently over-functioning (trying too hard, doing too much, loving too hard) in a situation that might just be misaligned?
Dysfunction Junction, What’s Your Function
Clarity isn’t about doing more or trying harder. It’s about seeing what’s actually happening, Not gaslighting yourself to stay or keep others comfortable. Name it. Reality-check it. Tell yourself and others the truth about it. I work with high-capacity leaders who are holding everything together in broken, dysfunctional or chaotic systems (family, work, dating) and help them get clear on what’s actually happening and what the function in the dysfunction is that allows it to continue.
