What is the one thing that you don’t want to do, that you know you must do in order to achieve your goal?
Why this is powerful:
- Helps the client to identify resistance (for example, I don’t want to go to job interviews to get a new job)
- Helps the client identify complex equivalences (for example, I have to get another qualification before applying for a new role)
- Helps the client surface limiting beliefs and limiting decisions (for example, I’m not good at job interviews)
Activity: Ask yourself this question in relation to one of your goals. Write down your responses. Notice how you feel in your body and what comes up for you.
Stretch: Ask this question in a coaching session this week.
Extra stretch: Bring the resistance or beliefs that arise for you to our next coaching practice pod and work with a fellow coach to release them.
