When we spiral about the future, about something that hasn’t happened yet.
We need to ask ourselves a few questions:
Can I change the outcome by spiralling about it now?
Am I going to do the thing regardless?
Who is going to care about the outcome of the thing?
You write these questions down and work through the answers.
Depending on what we discover, that then dictates the behaviours we choose around those questions.
In time, we can go through this process in our heads within a few minutes and that’s how we begin to control our behaviour.
The behaviour then becomes more positive.
It takes time.
It takes hard work.
It takes commitment.
But it is doable.
