I’ve been working on getting my little robot arm running with LinuxCNC, an open-source CNC machine control software. It's been a tough challenge, but I’ve made a big step forward: ✅ LinuxCNC can now talk to the robot arm’s controller and tell it where to move. ✅ As long as a CAN bus link is set up, any computer can run this arm using LinuxCNC. Still on the to-do list: - 🛠️ Fixing some jittering issues - 🔍 Getting sensor detection working Once that’s sorted, I’m planning to build a teaching pendant for easier control, really looking forward to that project! Meanwhile, on the business side: I’ve started posting 3D printing tips & content on LinkedIn to connect with companies that need 3D printing services. Hopefully I can bring some people into the Skool community too, we’ll see how that goes!

Just found this guy on YouTube who made the simplest homemade CNC build I’ve ever seen. He uses a granite slab as the base and a thick steel piece bent to 90 degrees as the Z-axis. In another video he talks about the play in the machine, I linked the rigidity test and showcase videos below. For what it is, the thing seems surprisingly stable, even with some 3D-printed parts. i assume the build costs a bit under $1000, which looks like a way better deal than most off the shelf machines you can get at that price. Definitely got me interested in trying something like this once I can budget for it. Let me know what you think! Hey guys, I’ve got an idea for the classroom tab. I’m not planning on making courses or anything like that anytime soon since I wouldn’t call myself a professional or anything close to that, I’m still pretty new to the game. What I would like to do is compile a bunch of resources, organize them into categories, and use the classroom tab as a library where everything manufacturing and automation related can be stored. Do you like that idea? If so, what categories would you most like to see?

So i just watched this 8 minute video Bugatti released last month and i found it very interesting, it seems like they use Metal 3d printing to make the back diffuser, they've designed a diffuser which has a honeycomb patter on the inside to absorb the energy of a crash. They also mentioned something about a suspension part being 3d printed although im not sure how the suspension would benefit from metal 3d printing. This just shows how important 3d printing is and honestly opens up crazy opportunities where other manufacturers could use similar methods to create cars that are safer for the public. One implementation could be Rally where the car NEEDS to sustain crazy amounts of force if the car hits something at extreme speeds. What do you think about this? Is there a better way to do it or is metal 3d printing really the best option? what other use cases could Metal 3d printing have in the automotive industry?
