Welcome to Midnight Draft
If you’re here, you probably already know the feeling: You want to write. You have ideas. But time is limited, life is full, and it’s easy for weeks, months, or even years to pass without real progress. That’s what this space is for. Midnight Draft is a community for writers who are serious about their work, but who are also balancing careers, family, and everything else that comes with a full life. The goal of this space isn’t perfection. It’s consistency, momentum, and staying connected to the work over time. Here’s what you can expect here: - A supportive, low-pressure environment - Conversations about craft, process, and staying engaged - Shared accountability with other writers - Structured writing sessions (including a twice a monthly group session) - Opportunities to engage in workshops/courses, critique groups, and other learning experiences to refine your craft. You don’t need to be at any particular stage in your writing journey. You don’t need to be writing every day. You just need to be willing to keep coming back to the page. To get started: Introduce yourself in the comments here or via a post to the community. - What are you working on (or hoping to work on)? - What’s been the biggest challenge in maintaining a writing practice? Glad you’re here! —Frank

Start Here!
If you’re new here, here’s a quick guide to how to use the space. This community is designed to be simple, flexible, and useful. It's a space you can return to consistently without it feeling like another obligation. What you can do here: 1. Show up to write together. We host live community writing sessions each month. This is structured, low-pressure writing time where you can focus and make progress. No sharing required. Just come and write. 2. Post updates or check-ins. Working on something? Stuck on something? Made progress? Post about it. Even a quick update like “wrote 500 words today” counts. This is a space to stay connected to the work. 3. Ask questions and start conversations. Craft questions, process questions, or anything you’re thinking through, feel free to post. Chances are someone else is wondering the same thing. 4. Share your writing news. Have you had a writing or publishing success? We'd love to celebrate with you! 5. If you want feedback or just want to share something you’re working on, you’re welcome to. There’s no expectation--only if it's useful to you. This is meant to be: - low pressure - consistent - sustainable You don’t have to be writing every day. You don’t need to have something polished. Just keep coming back to the creative spark. If you’re not sure what to do first, try this: - Introduce yourself in a post - Share what you’re working on (or hoping to work on) - Or just join a community writing session and write

Midweek Progress Check
How is everyone doing this week? How is your writing going? Are you reaching your goals or little behind? I, for one, am running behind my creative writing goal for the week, but I have more time on Thursday and Friday to catch up! Planning to put a live writing sprint on the calendar, so be on the lookout for that too.
Midweek Progress Check
Monday Goal-Setting
Hope your week is off to a great start! What are your writing goals for this week? Do you want to write a specific number of words? A certain number of scenes? Are you writing shorter pieces like poems? Naming goals is the first step toward achieving them. We’d love to hear yours.
