Looking for affordable or community options to explore new Microsoft Fabric features
Hej everyone,
I'm a Microsoft Fabric consultant and I like to stay on top of new features by testing them out myself. The challenge is that my client environments have certain restrictions, so I need my own workspace and tenant where I can experiment freely.
I've already burned through the 60-day trial and gave the F2 capacity a go, but honestly, it's still pretty expensive for ongoing testing and learning.
I'm wondering if anyone here has experience with:
Getting access to subsidized or educational licenses – Are there any community programs, educational licenses, or special pricing for Fabric, particularly in Denmark or the EU?
Cost-saving strategies – Things like pausing capacity when not in use, working with minimal SKUs, or making the most of free-tier features?
Running Fabric as a personal sandbox – What limitations or practical gotchas should I be aware of when using it this way?
If you've navigated this yourself or have any tips, I'd really appreciate hearing about it. Thanks in advance!
