DP600 Exam review and tips
To open Learn, click Toolbar on the left (Learn icon was about 1/3 way down the icons list). To close learn, close the browser tab. I had Learn open the entire time.
To search, filter by Product as Fabric or SQL Server (somehow i never needed to filter Power BI). Without filter the results may be worse. I couldn't find the Fabric license docs that i can easily find from google at home. Then i realized google indexes it as "fabric concepts and licenses" which was what i searched, but Learn indexes it as "Microsoft Fabric concepts - Microsoft Fabric". No wonder i didn't recognize search results.
Learn was really useful, probably helped me answer 10/58 questions, some of which i never even knew existed as a feature/syntax, but filled in the knowledge on the spot. Fast reading and typing helps. I read the paragraph summary under each result and watch highlighted search terms to decide if the answer is in that result, then after clicking into result, look at the header overview on the top and try to guess the section (eg. permissions), if can't find, just brute force scroll and speed read.
Aimed to do 2min/question, and had about 15 minutes left to review 8 in 1hour40 exam
The hardest part is finding examples that use multiple keywords in a single example, because most syntax-type searches lead you to the definition of the keyword alone, not in the context of other terms or use cases (which is where the question/multiple choice option comes from). There are many pages I could find during the exam but can't find now after the exam, because i'm searching the wrong terms. This tells me searching the right keywords (provided in question) are important.
Annoying was getting back to the Learn search bar after clicking some steps into a search result, had to click back many times. Maybe i should have opened more tabs and left the search page alone. Didn't occur to me to try tabs during exam.
To review, click toolbar, 1st icon at top "Exam Question Details" -> "Marked for Review (8)".
I do this repeatedly because when reviewing, clicking previous/next leads you to the neighboring question number, not the next one you marked for review.
There will be times where the same task may be done using multiple methods, and you may only be exposed to 1 of them during practice. In this case understanding the theory well helps you make smart guesses.
In increasing difficulty in my opinion, I previously did:
AZ400 (score 780 if you don't know, you don't know, i walked out after 1hr of 1hr40 exam)
AZ104 (score 800)
AZ204 (score 810)
I insert DP600 (score 897) between AZ400 and AZ104. I prepped way harder for AZ104 and AZ204, and closer to exam date so knowledge is fresh, but they go more in depth into syntax/settings where you choose the correct answer in dropdown.
