WordPress already exists for this domain and can only be installed in a sub-directory. Please specify a path.(Does this mean my domain name is already taken by another wordpress user and what should be done to fix this)?

Why is WordPress saying the domain name I chose under the hosting plan I bought is already taken? Can this be changed? Kindly address this issue because I already paid DreamHost to host me using Wordpress under that domain name, and if it's already taken, I shouldn't have to pay again for it to be changed, This is because while I was choosing a domain name, I put in the name I wanted but it appeared to be taken, so DreamHost suggested lilyenterprisesllc.com, and I bought the plan. Now, according to WordPress, the domain name is taken, so what's the next step to address this issue cause I already paid Dreamhost and this is derailing my progress. Can the issue be fixed so that I can continue with the course and graduate. This course is really important to me.
