Hi Ladies and gents...if you have not Read the Post for GOAT #1... then here is the Summary of it, as in... what he said was all you needed.
I believe we ALL can do this... we just have to be At It Consistently, and Surround ourselves with the Right People (See his Points in Lesson: #3 and Lesson #8.
PS.. I IMMEDIATELY bought the Audio book on Amazon that he is referring to below, The Slight Edge...and will probably reall ALL three of his books.
QUESTION for you: What will you Do after Reading this article?
DO Comment Below... do NOT send me DM's about it...but comment here so we all can inspire each other and Take Action Together... Learn Together... Help Each OTHER TOGETHER.
I WANT TO HIGHLIGHT THIS POINT HE MADE HERE AS WELL:
"Thankfully, someone I met through a community mentioned I should probably stop reaching out to businesses that are suffering (Gyms) and start reaching out to businesses that are thriving.
→ Which, as a side note, is why communities are so powerful. They connect you with people a lot smarter than you.
And as a result of making that pivot, I managed to get 4 clients in my first year as an “eCommerce Facebook marketing agency”
Here is the article... ENJOY. (Bookmark this page):
How I Went From $0-$400k /Month (The Story Before The 🐐)
This may be the longest post in the history of Skool posts 🫠
2. There is a TLDR section clearly outlined below (you do not need to read all of this)
With that said, I want to start by saying thank you to everyone for the amount of support that has been shown in the Skoolers community.
I also want to make sure it's very clear that I am not the sole “Goat” of Skool.
Evolve is made up of an incredible team of 5 people.
At the time of writing this, we now have:
- 1 Head Of Client Success
- 2 Client Success Managers
- 1 Sales Rep
And most importantly
And before diving into this, I want to take a second to quickly talk about my “hidden partner,” who is actually the only reason why Evolve has become what it is today.
Without Shaun, Evolve literally would have been nothing. So, as much as I have been getting the front-facing love from everyone at Skool.
Shaun is one of the most world-class marketers I have ever met & deserves even more acknowledgement than me for the “🐐” Status. And since I know you're reading this, Shaun, I am truly grateful for how you have helped change my life and thousands of others through Evolve. Now, below you will find the summarized TLDR; (too long didn’t read) for those of you who just want the takeaways. This thing is long. I'd rather most of you read the TLDR and tactical points, then just take action.
But, those of you brave enough who want to understand the full story of how Evolve grew to what it is today, you can tag along with me below to understand how each one of these “Big Lessons” developed.
🏁 My 9 Big Lessons from $0-$400k/month (the TLDR) 🏁
🏆 Big Lesson #1 ⎯ You need to have conviction AND consistency.
- In my first 6 months of business, I made $140/mo. You have to believe in yourself to push through.
- There is no "one big thing" that led to Evolve's growth. It was a bunch of little things over time.
- My 2 must-reads: Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill (beginners) & The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson(all)
🏆 Big Lesson #2 ⎯ You need to build a world-class skillset that is valuable
- The more valuable your skill set, the more people are willing to pay
- If you don't have a very valuable skill set, join Skool groups to gather skills
- Then apply those skills so that they develop into a skill set that others want to pay you for
- If you have a skill set AND you have proof that it is valuable, never stop getting better at your craft (big lesson #8 below)
🏆 Big Lesson #3 ⎯ Put yourself in rooms that break limiting beliefs
- If you’re in Skoolers, that already helps break limiting beliefs
- But if you want to shatter your limiting beliefs even more, you need to be around people doing exactly what you do at 5x-10x the scale.
- As soon as you realize it's possible, your brain starts figuring out a way of getting there.
🏆 Big Lesson #4 ⎯ Do NOT be scared to invest in yourself
- The best investment that you can make is in yourself. So do it.
- The S&ME >>> S&P
- Whatever return you expect to get from the S&P, you will likely get every month from the S&ME.
🏆 Big Lesson #5 ⎯ If you have a business with SOPs for your team. You have a Skool Program.
- Evolve started as a training program for my team. That training program is now worth over 400K per month.
- If you're an existing business owner who is new to Skool, you already have a course created. You just need to put it together and start marketing it.
🏆 Big Lesson #6 ⎯ If you want to grow, you have to complete feedback loops.
- Feedback loops are the hidden variable that is stopping you from achieving growth.
- Just being consistent isn't good enough.
- You have to make sure you understand why things are working, and more importantly, why things are not working, so you can correct your inputs to get the outputs that you want.
🏆 Big Lesson #7 ⎯ You need to make content that helps people, CONSISTENTLY.
- Your content needs to help a specific group of people and provide them with overwhelming amounts of value.
- You need to do cool shit, and that can take time. Good, you’re in it for the long run.
- Be authentic to you. Nobody wants to watch another version of someone else. They want to watch YOU.
- Do not stop. These platforms demand consistency. Don't overload yourself. Make content that you can sustain for the long term until you can afford people to help you increase volume.
🏆 Big Lesson #8 ⎯ Never stop sharpening your axe
- Behind Evolve is an agency that helps create all of the information for our community.
- That agency is what helps me sharpen my axe every single month & provide my community with the most up-to-date and validated strategies to scale.
- If you’re struggling with churn, you need to continue to develop your skill set. If you do, you will be able to provide your community with better information, and if your information is better, they’ll stay.
🏆 Big Lesson #9 ⎯ Provide overwhelming amounts of value
- Skool sells a $500/mo software for $9/mo (Overwhelming Value)
- We help brands hit $1m/month in profit for $1k/month (Overwhelming Value)
- Alex did a $100M in 3 days after giving Overwhelming Value for years
- You need to provide so much value that it feels like they owe you. Try to sell Ferraris for $10,000.
- For context, we did one-on-one calls with every single Evolve member until $150,000 a month with our community. You can likely provide more value in your community.
🎯 Tactical Points For Skoolers 🎯
#1 - We close $100k/month from X/Twitter
#2 - If you’re not tracking, you’re slacking.
#3 - Don't be scared to increase your price.
We did over $150k in new sales last month as a result of a 25% price bump. It creates urgency for new buyers. Locks in existing customers. (Don't do it blindly, make sure you know your value)
#4 - Don't be scared to remove access.
We did this back in April and ended up having a $50k week just by saying "price remains the same, but new members will now have to start paying extra for x,y,z thing". (Same thing, don't do this blindly)
#5 - Help members see an $ to $ ROI
Anytime you can make your community's ROI a $’s to $’s comparison, it's easier for them to justify paying that amount.
#6 - Double down on your best-performing content
Once you find a content style that works, double down on it. For us, long-form podcasts with students absolutely crush on YouTube. So, try it.
#7 - Identify your “first win moment” (activation point)
The first win is what makes people stick. So, ask your most successful members, “What was your first win?” and then double down all of your efforts on getting new users that same win.
#8 - You need more/better marketing
Churn will never go to 0%. So, you have to focus on doing more/better marketing. I’m much more of a “better” person than a “more” person. So, the KPIs that we track for successful marketing are the total impressions that we get, instead of “total inputs” (although we track those as well)
#9 - Don’t sleep on your backend.
We did our first $1M/month from backend upsells to our best customers. Build programs that solve the next problem.
