I was at the beach with my friend, and he was looking at people that were in shape, and he told me, "Man! Life must be so much easier having a body like that; he's having it easy with the girls; they all seem so confident; they are having it all easy!" He began to compare himself to others and expressed his frustration, saying that he could never achieve that level of fitness and that the circumstances he was born into would never allow it. And I said to him, "No one is born fit dude!" This was a limited belief he had. Everything you believe about yourself is a result of programming. Something passed on. But does it really fit me? Is this the person I really want to be? Why do we do the things we do? Why do we act a certain way? It's a pattern we installed when we were young, and we never questioned it. Where does it come from? We are born, and we are given a set of instructions by our parents, who were given them by their parents, and so on... If we don't want the same output as our parents, we must change the input. We often say that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree; it's because the mindset is transferred. The truth is that nothing is fixed; everything can be changed, and everything can be learned. We can make a different choice, try something new, see if it fits, and make another choice if it doesn't. Life is a learning journey. Everything is possible, one step at a time. Change is not easy, but it's possible! The reality is that there are UNLIMITED versions of us: - There's the version of me who indulges in chips and beer while watching TV. - The version of me that eats healthy and works out every day. - There is also a version of me that complains about how the world dealt me bad cards. - There is also another version of me who, despite being dealt the worst cards, utilizes them to my advantage. - The version of me that is shy, another that has confidence over the roof... Choose a version of you that you want and stick to it. Remember that everything compounds over time; climbing is the hardest, but it has the best view.
