What No One Is Telling You About Menopause
Menopause, while messy, frustrating, and at times unrecognisable - is not the end of you. However, it can be the beginning of a new kind of power. If you’re doing everything “right” - eating well, moving your body, staying consistent - and still feel meh… It’s because your hormones have changed - and no one taught you what to do about it!! I want you to hear this clearly: It’s not because you’ve failed. ➡️ If you’ve been “eating clean” and still can’t get rid of the bloating, weight gain, brain fog, or 2pm crash. Your gut, your blood sugar, and your stress hormone (cortisol) are in constant conversation and during menopause, that conversation can get "messy" ➡️ From perimenopause through to post menopause, your body goes through profound hormonal changes that impact how you store fat, where you store it, and how efficiently your metabolism works. And it’s not just about how much you’re eating - it’s about how your body is now processing what you're eating. ➡️ During menopause your declining oestrogen levels during menopause cause an increase in abdominal and visceral fat, which in turn contributes to increased risk of insulin resistance, cardiovascular disease, and inflammation. Truth is… 🌸You’re not imagining it. 🌸You’re not lazy. 🌸You’re not broken. 🌸You’re simply operating in a different hormonal environment - and you need a different strategy. When you work with your hormones instead of against them, everything changes. ✨So take up space. ✨Ask the questions. ✨Demand better care. ✨ when you need to. ✨Rage when you must. ✨And reach for the support that should have been offered to you all along. Understanding what is really going on inside your body and acknowledging the CHANGE is crucial. Truth is that your body has CHANGED so your approach to looking after it now must also CHANGE. ❤️The first step to CHANGE is to accept this fact: “My body has CHANGED, so my approach to looking after it now must also CHANGE” ❤️The second step to CHANGE is to be open minded to this fact: “My body has CHANGED, so my approach to looking after it now must also CHANGE”
