First Exhibitor Gig is in the Books!!
It was a LOT of work to get this put together but definitely worth it.
It was a private networking event that I found on Eventbrite. I had to pay $100 CAD (about $1.50 US) to be an exhibitor.
No one really wanted to talk to me for the first hour, but when I got up and gave a 3 minute presentation, that's when the interest flowed.
This was not my room of ICPs. The intention of the event was to get me started into exhibiting in a low pressure (sort of) situation. There were a few people who fit my ICP, and a couple of potential power partners, so there should be some direct benefit.
The big tasks for this event were to create my banner and get some reps in.
Long and short... I'm built for live, in-person networking... BNI, Chambers of Commerce, etc... and trade shows. That's who I am. It's my jam. As Ivan Misner, the founder of BNI says, "Work in your flame, (what inspires you) not in your wax (the drudgery).
Moral of the story here, for me is... figure out your flame and live in it.
My wax... telemarketing, email marketing, social media marketing, SEO. In some ways, I'd rather have my fingernails ripped out before making a cold call.
Tell me... In this world of digital marketing. What's your flame? What's your wax? How can we help and support each other?
