Joy Dealer
ACTION STEPS:
Main Theme:
Being enjoyable to be around is a sign of strength, spiritual health, and leadership. It builds trust, lightens hard conversations, strengthens intimacy, and attracts your wife, your kids, and the right people into your life.
Key Principles:
• 1. Maturity Isn’t Misery:
You don’t have to trade your joy for maturity. Jesus was strong and enjoyable. You can be both serious and full of laughter.
• 2. Joy Is Strength (Nehemiah 8:10):
True joy doesn’t come from circumstances—it comes from alignment with God. And joy is what fuels a strong, magnetic presence.
• 3. Rigid Men Repel:
If your wife or kids aren’t drawn to you, check your energy. You can’t attract joy or connection if you’re always intense, reactive, or boring.
• 4. You Can Train for Joy:
Joy is not a personality type—it’s a discipline. Just like muscles grow through training, joy grows through intentional practice.
• 5. Substances Aren’t the Source:
If you need alcohol, weed, TV, or external entertainment to “have fun”—you’re giving those things power that should belong to the Spirit in you.
• 6. Your Wife Wants the Man She Dated:
The man who joked. Who laughed. Who made her feel seen, lighthearted, and alive. Bring him back—but better, more grounded, and Spirit-led.
Action Steps:
1. Audit Yourself:
Ask yourself daily:
“Was I enjoyable to be around today?”
Be honest. Was I rigid? Heavy? Dull?
Start catching your patterns.
2. Cut the Joy Killers:
Eliminate
• Substances (alcohol, weed, excessive caffeine, etc.)
• News, politics, toxic media
• Friends who always complain or drain you
• Entertainment that doesn’t make you feel better afterward
• Any habit that doesn’t make you think, feel, or be better
3. Embrace Playfulness:
• Be goofy with your kids
• Joke with your wife
• Talk in silly voices, laugh at yourself, lighten the moment
• Be willing to look “dumb” to unlock deeper connection
4. Keep God’s Order to Reduce Stress:
Stick to the order
1. God
2. Self (your mental, physical, spiritual health)
3. Marriage
4. Kids
5. Business
When life is in this order, your joy and calm will multiply.
5. Take the Sabbath:
Take one day per week to fully rest. This resets your nervous system and makes you more present and enjoyable the rest of the week.
6. Try New Things (Break the Boredom):
• Be open to new hobbies, foods, date ideas, conversations
• Say yes more often
• Boring men are just men who stopped trying new things
7. Practice Joy Daily:
• Watch or listen to something that makes you laugh
• Journal what made you smile today
• Text someone a funny memory
• Speak words of encouragement to your wife or kids
8. Lead Serious Talks with Lightness:
Tough conversations go smoother when your tone is light and your heart is soft. Build the pattern of joy so conflict doesn’t feel like combat.
9. Ask for Feedback:
Ask your wife and kids:
“Am I fun to be around? Do I bring joy to our home?”
Then, listen. Don’t defend. Adjust.
Bonus Reflection Verse:
“God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”
– 2 Timothy 1:7
If fear is blocking your joy, it’s not from God. Bold men bring lightness, not tension. And that kind of man?
He’s unforgettable.
