From Information to Transformation
Men, information is not transformation until it produces obedience. You do not have the mind of Christ simply because you can quote the words of Christ. The mind of Christ begins to be demonstrated in your life when you actually obey what Christ has said. Jesus declared, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). Bread feeds your body, but the Word feeds your spirit. Yet bread cannot strengthen you simply because you look at it, admire it, talk about it, or carry it around. At some point, it has to be received. In the same way, the Word of God does not transform a man merely because he owns a Bible, attends church, listens to podcasts, or takes great notes. The Word transforms us when it is received, believed, and practiced.
Jesus made this incredibly clear in Matthew 7:24 when He said, “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.” Never miss this: both builders heard. The wise man heard, and the foolish man heard. Both men received information, and both eventually experienced a storm. The difference was not what they heard; the difference was what they did with what they heard. One obeyed, while the other ignored. One built on rock, while the other built on sand. When the storm arrived, obedience became the dividing line between stability and collapse.
Men, this matters in every area of your life. You are not building your life merely by what you hear on Sunday; you are building your life by what you obey on Monday. You are not building your marriage by how loudly you worship in church; you are building your marriage by how you speak to your wife when you are angry, frustrated, tired, or disappointed. You are not building your children simply by how many Scriptures you can quote; you are building them by whether they see those Scriptures lived out in their home. You are not building your ministry, leadership, or legacy merely through your public gifts; you are building them through your private obedience.
The Word you obey becomes a foundation. The Word you ignore becomes sand. Culture changes. Opinions change. Emotions change. Circumstances change. But the Word of our God stands forever. A Man Alive does not merely collect biblical information—he builds his life on biblical obedience. When you build on the Word, storms may shake your house, your marriage, your emotions, and even your faith, but they do not have to destroy you. Hear the Word. Believe the Word. Obey the Word. Build on the Rock.
