Comparative Imagery (Similes & Metaphors)
Before getting into metaphors, students need to understand that rhyming isn't just "Cat/Hat."
• Perfect Rhymes: The classic sound match (e.g., Light/Bright).
• Slant Rhymes (Near Rhymes): Words that almost rhyme, giving the writer more freedom (e.g., Eyes/Light or Bridge/Grudge).
• Internal Rhyme: Placing a rhyme in the middle of a line instead of just at the end.
• Multisyllabic Rhyming: Rhyming phrases with multiple syllables (e.g., Incredible/Unforgettable).
