Woke up with Fibrosis
Believe it or not you do not wake up with fibrosis. Your stomach, arms, legs, chin etc. is trying to recover after a traumatic as soon as the surgery stops. Producing collagen Reabsorbing fluid Laying down scar tissue And when paired with a garment that is ill fitting and swelling that is reducing... you get hard. Fibrotic tissue begins forming but it takes about 21 days for true fibrosis to form (if we consider the stages of healing). This means that the first month of recovery is crucial for massages and the best time to pay attention to your body. If you can catch the hardness early you can soften with ease. Recovery would include using a fibrosis foam. Properly applying heat (Think warm showers if you're not cleared for heating pads). And direct contact through massage. Did your surgeon say anything about fibrosis / hardness?

1 year post op and I have fibrosis
Not an uncommon story. Depending on the severity you can still see change at home. Light to moderate fibrosis means you can use the cups, fibrosis foams, and if you've invested in a radio frequency machine (think body sculpting) all from the comfort of your bathroom. The main difference between yourself and someone who is 1 MONTH post op is the duration and frequency. You will need to go longer and for more days to see significant change. Most of the videos under CLASSROOM mention doing your routine for 10-15 minutes. When treating OLDER fibrosis you're looking at at least 30 minutes. There also is a difference in true scar tissue and true fibrosis. We can not break down scar tissue easily after months of it hardening. It requires a different approach and sometimes professional help.

Tummy Tuck Lymphatic Massage
New video uploaded under Classroom > Massages Routine You can also do this variation of massage if you did liposuction (no tummy tuck) while you are hunched over during the first few days. Even if you are getting professional massages you want to still know how to take care of yourself at home.

I need more compression
The solution depends. If you were in a large garment post liposuction now it might be time for a medium. With liposuction this might also look like adding foams. If you are a few weeks post op this could look like tailoring the garment to fit your new body (taking an inch or two off) If you have more than one of the same stage garment it could be time to move onto the next (ie: from stage 2 to stage 3 ) If you had a tummy tuck your answer for compression is patience. You can only compress so much without it rubbing onto your fresh scar. The priority for you is to heal (and not open). Until your incision looks like skin (versus thread at the bottom of your belly) a faja is likely not in your vocabulary. Keeping a low sodium diet looks like READING THE LABELS, you can not assume something doesnt have a boat load of sodium.
