Orientation Video
Go to the classroom and start with the quick orientation video to verify the following: • Who I am • Who this community is for • Who it is not for • How to get value without feeling overwhelmed • The mindset shift from pilot → agency 👉 Watch this before diving into the resources. The goal is clarity, not hype. If the approach resonates, everything else here will make more sense.

Welcome to From Pilot to Agency. This is a professional community for drone pilots who either operate commercially or are intentionally working toward building a drone business. The focus here is the business side of drone work. How jobs are structured. How expectations are set. How reliability is maintained. How pilots avoid becoming the bottleneck as work grows. This is about sustainability and decision making, not flying techniques or gear. A few important things to know up front. 🚫This is not a flying, FPV, or Part 107 training group. 🚫This is not a get rich quick or income promise space. 🚫This is not focused on recreational flying. What is offered here is shared context, discussion, and connection with other operators who take the business side of drone work seriously. Some members here are running solo operations. Some are exploring how to grow beyond themselves. Some are already working with other pilots. Some are still figuring out what path makes sense. All are welcome as long as the intent is professional. This space is meant to be useful on its own. A place to think clearly, ask real questions, and learn from how others are navigating similar challenges. There are deeper resources and implementation tools available for those actively building toward an agency style model, but nothing here requires you to start a course or follow a specific path. 🤝First things first, start some discussion! Share real situations you are dealing with. Join discussions that are relevant to your stage. Connect with other operators. No rush. No required order. Engage where it makes sense for you. If you are here to build something reliable and repeatable, you are in the right place. Bailey

Resource Index
Everything here is designed to be plug-and-play, then customized to your own business and jurisdiction. Nothing is meant to replace legal advice. Think of these as starting frameworks, not final answers. Current resources include: • Independent Contractor Pilot Agreement (Agency Model) • Pilot Code of Conduct • Quality & Acceptance Standards • Client Interaction Rules • Pilot Onboarding Checklist • Pilot Vetting & Qualification Checklist • Master Pilot Roster Spreadsheet • Job / Client / Payment Tracking Spreadsheet • Client Service Agreement Template • Exhibit A – Scope of Services Template • Implementation Guide Important note: These documents are intentionally comprehensive. Most members simplify them over time with a local attorney or based on their own operations. Use what applies. Ignore what doesn’t. If you have questions about how or when to use a specific resource, start a discussion — that’s what the community is for.

Most Drone Pilots Have a Lead Problem, Not a Flying Problem
A lot of pilots think they need a better drone, a better camera, or more flight experience before they can start landing clients. In reality, most paying clients will never ask: - What drone you fly - How many flight hours you have - Whether you shoot in D-Log - They'll ask: - How much does it cost? - How soon can you do it? - Can I see examples of your work? - The pilot with a basic drone, a simple portfolio, and consistent outreach will almost always make more money than the pilot with $10,000 in equipment waiting for the "perfect" opportunity. Your next client is probably hidden behind a conversation you're avoiding, not a piece of gear you're missing.

Introductions
Hey guys, welcome to the few founding members that have joined so far! My plan for this space is to be to discuss business topics, network with other pilots, and help eachother out in a space that is a little more professional than Facebook or other groups. So to start feel free to post a quick introduction with: 1) Your name 2) Type of drone business and experience 3) Your current drone fleet 4) What current issues you're facing OR what are some positive highlights you've had early on this year! -Bailey
