Today I am thankful for my life, family, and friends, for the power of influence, and the ability to use it in a way that brings people together ❤️ I thank you all for being here not only for me, but for each other, and every other nurse who you lend your ear, shoulder, or conversation to. We are experiencing some of the most trying times currently in healthcare and specifically in nursing. From government shutdowns, to graduate nursing degree programs being declassified as “professional” occupations of study, the only thing that remains the same is our spirit of perseverance and the ability to endure, adapt, and pivot when needed. The Nurses Lounge was created from the necessity to access something REAL for nurses to be a part of in a world of healthcare propaganda. I truly appreciate each of you for being a contributing member, and trusting me to create and environment of growth and connection. Happy Thanksgiving!! Constantly look for opportunities for advancement, and find at least 3 people at every place you work to get their contact information. Whether you use it later or not… you never know who you’ll need until you need them! Being kind goes a long way. You don’t have to be “fake”, but it’s definitely time to expand that LinkedIn, and a letter of recommendation may help for your next position!
