*UPDATE* Worm blankets/Burlap?
Does anyone use worm blankets/ burlap in their bins? I bought a very large piece then found out it had been treated so i have washed and rinsed it multiple times. Alternating very soapy hot water then a vinegar bath until the chemicals are basically gone. Ive been testing a piece on one section of a worm bin and they seem to love it. If you use them how do you like them? Any tips or tricks I should know before placing it on a few bins? TIA 😁🪱💩😁
*UPDATE*
After using the burlap in several bins I've found that the worms really really like it. However, there are a couple drawbacks.
1) It seems to be more susceptible to fungus gnats and allows for more breeding of them if not kept under more control.
2) In my opinion its not good for breeder bins. The worms like to wiggle around in and out of it which makes getting them out harder to do. They tend to get tangled up within the fabric.
