🔥Hot Topic Alert ‼️🚨
Hey everybody! First of all I'd like to welcome all new members! I didn't get into a habit making separate posts for people joining as it might be a little overwhelming seeing these on the main feed all the time, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate you checking in 😉 Thanks in advance for all your input or if you just here to check things out that's fine too. I wanted to touch on a sensitive subject for most trades people I would say, so even if you're not an epoxy installer, it might be relatable regardless. The reason is me just recently seeing a lot of conversations about it in other groups and I want to see what your thoughts are . 📢How much to charge for your work and how to deal with underbidding competitors ⁉️ I see all the time and experienced it a lot when bidding for a job, there's always that one guy who will do it for less. How do you react to this ? I get it, all of us are in a different situation and especially when we start out we want to grasp on every bit of work that will pay the bills. But have you had that job yet, when at the end of it all you say to yourself this just wasn't worth it ? 🥸 We can blow up this conversation, since there's so many different angles we can look at this. My take is that lack of systems usually let our minds wonder a lot and we start overthinking if we should have charged more or bid less to get a job. Almost all of it is a mind game that our brain is playing with us. If anyone has ever tried trading, this reminds me of that a lot. When you look at the graphs and trying to predict whether the price is going up or down , without a system in place it's just gambling, but those few that are successful at it have systems in place that eliminate that human factor out of it and when in doubt, you don't have to guess, you just follow the guidelines you previously set up for yourself and then just deal with the result afterwards. Good outcome - positive checkmark, bad outcome - put it in the investigation box and see why the outcome wasn't to your liking. It might sound esoteric, but what do you think?

Ai agents for helping run the business
Would anyone be interested in attending a webinar on how to setup and run ai tech to help in every day tasks, like answering phone calls when you busy grinding the floor, making estimate appointments and so on? We have a man here @Rudolf Van Loggerenberg , who has helped numerous people with their needs of AI tech, as well as made a quick presentation for me which I was pretty impressed with and figured if there's enough interest, we can organize a meeting, so you guys can keep up with new tech. I know a lot of us are old school and don't really feel the need for it or there's other priorities, but if we don't improve, we regress . Let me know and we can figure something out 👇🏻

iPhone Voice to Text for anything
Hey guys @Alvis Ciritis here you go mate, so with this all you need is your iPhone (pretty sure you will be able to do this with IOS as well), record your normal voice note, upload it to your own or designated google drive + folder and as soon as it lands it gets grabbed and turned into text ready to be used. And it was perfect English translation. I will make a demo tomorrow - going to sleep now 02:22

Ad Campaigns
Hey everyone ! One thing I noticed that might help anyone who wants to start running ads and is new to it ( like myself ) Just started a new campaign on Facebook for countertop restoration and making custom countertops, specifically for my area, because the garage floors are tricky in winter and unless it's a heated slab, I don't normally like doing it ( even if the product manufacturer says it's good , there's just more risk of failure down the road ). When creating a media carousel ( just images and videos you can add to your listing ), you can either add a normal image, which is fine and nothing wrong with that either, or you can make a short clip that will grab more attention and that way you can attract your customer base with specifics that you want or just in general make it more "juicy" . As an example I added one here. Tell me what you think, if you ever used something like that , what was the result and so on. Also if you need help creating something like this, let me know. It took me very minimal time in CapCut to do this and I think it's definitely worth it 👍🏻😎

Never say $ per sq/f price over the phone to a customer⚠️ here's why
Today I had an experience that I would like to share and see if you agree or maybe you got your own thoughts about that, in that case please hit the comment section👇🏻 It's normal to get asked over the phone how much do you charge per sq/f , because it's something measurable that people can go off of, but here's a thing... Let's say John charges 6$/ per sq foot . For simple math, he takes 1000 square foot garage, that's 6000 $, right ? Nope 🙅🏻‍♂️ At least not for you it's not ( I hope that's not how you do your estimates , but each to their own ) .For the house owner though or whoever asked for the price per sq/f , that's how this math sounds like. Fun fact, I also noticed that a lot of times you get phone calls from competitors asking the same thing, they are just testing the waters...Nothing wrong with that, but say it's a job where you just need to seal the driveway, then it makes sense, there's nothing really that can fluctuate in price that much, but even so...your material markup and labor cost are gonna make a huge difference! For example 1000 sq/f garage, ideal slab, no cracks. We apply MVB ( Moisture vapor barrier ) @ 150 sq/f per gallon ( you can use 100 per G for your math , it's just an example ), that's ~6.7gal + 10-15% waste =7.4-7.7 gal , so we order 8 gal (~30.3 L ) Base coat @ 120 sq/f per gallon, rough math ~ 10 gal (~37.9 L ) Flake broadcast to rejection , let's go a bit over, you will reclaim up to 40 %, but let's say 250 lbs of flake ( that's a bit much , but I'd rather have more than not enough ) Top Coat , Polyaspartic @ 100 sq/f per gallon ( that's a generous amount that I like to stick to for best results ) 10 gal + waste etc, order 12 gal ( ~45.4 L ) Now with just of all of these variables, imagine how much can the total go up or down depending on your application. Do you apply MVB? you maybe don't have to💁🏻‍♂️ but what if the moisture content in the area will go up if it starts raining excessively or smth, I don't know ...it's just an example . You sometimes don't have to use it and will be fine, but would it ever suck to come back and redo the whole thing on your dime, wouldn't it.
