Haters are a barometer of success!
This is a friendly reminder that you can set your comments settings to “hold” and screen them before they go live, meaning mean comments don’t see the light of day if you don’t want them to. Also a reminder that YouTube has a lot of bots that say mean things, and the humans that do are hurting themselves! Take it from me: the more haters you have, the more successful you’re becoming. It’s unfortunate and cool at the same time. Please don’t let these trolls and bots stop you from making money and reaching your audience on YouTube or anywhere else. Some members asked how to set this: On Desktop 1. Go to YouTube Studio (“Your Videos” from top left pulldown menu) 2. In the left menu, click Settings. 3. Choose Community. 4. Click the Defaults tab. 5. Under Comments on your channel, select: “Hold all comments for review” or “Hold potentially inappropriate comments for review.” 6. Click Save. On Mobile (YouTube Studio App) 1. Open YT Studio app. 2. Tap your profile picture → Settings. 3. Tap Upload defaults → then Advanced settings. 4. Under Comments, choose: “Hold potentially inappropriate comments for review” or “Hold all comments.” You can also do this when uploading a single video!
