Hidden" Signs a Loved One Might Need Extra Help 🕵️‍♀️
Sometimes the signs that a parent or spouse needs assistance aren't obvious. They don't always fall or get sick; sometimes, the signs are quiet. As we provide #ConciergeCare across #WestCounty and #StCharles, these are the 5 things we tell families to look for:
1. The "Mail Pile"
Is the mail stacking up? Unopened bills or a full mailbox can be a sign of "decision fatigue" or memory changes.
2. The "Fridge Check"
Are there multiples of the same item (3 cartons of milk) or expired food? This often points to trouble with meal planning or memory.
3. The "Car Scratches"
New dents or "curb rash" on the tires can indicate that their reaction time or peripheral vision is changing.
4. Changes in Grooming
Are they wearing the same outfit three days in a row? This is often a sign that laundry or bathing has become physically exhausting.
5. The "Social Withdrawal"
Are they skipping the church groups or card games they used to love? Often, people withdraw because they are embarrassed by their physical or memory changes.
WE’RE HERE & READY TO ASSIST!
If you’ve noticed 2 or more of these signs, it’s time for a conversation. Our Customized Care Plans take the pressure off the family and keep your loved one independent for longer.
