Breaststroke legs and timing
There’s a great breaststroke drill called “two kicks, one pull” which does what it says on the tin. Two breaststroke kicks (while I’m streamline position) followed by one pull and breath cycle. This video shows the effect of such a powerful drill with perfect timing as the result.
You can see that as the arms shoot out, a split second later, the legs perform the whip-kick; increasing propulsion and driving the whole body forward through the water.
A must-know for any breaststroker out there! What’s your favourite breaststroke drill? Leave a comment below!
