So, usually I work on things for a long time before I start playing them live. Start slow, and work up to tempo. I started playing guitar, and gypsy jazz at the same time when I was 15, I luckily was around people like Tommy Davy, and Angelo Debarre enough to realize you need to practice things super slow at first.
This is a conceptually simple lick, but it's fairly difficult to execute, it's from Jimmy Rosenbergs version of "Chega de Saudade", which is almost a note for note copy of the Rosenberg Trio version.. They are both amazing recordings, so I recommend checking them out.
