Another gem pinned by French singer Charles Trenet — a tune inspired by the Ménilmontant neighborhood in Paris. Trenet wrote several songs that later became popular in gypsy jazz circles, and this one has always stood out to me.
We recorded this in Valencia, Spain with our friends Noah Young and Carlos Rubio. It’s always a pleasure working with such a great rhythm section.
