I remember the lead.
Everything looked right. Booked instantly. Had budget. Said the right words.
But 5 minutes in, I knew it was wrong.
Not bad. Not rude.
Just... wrong.
Wrong timing. Wrong urgency. Wrong fit.
And the thing is, they weren’t the problem.
I was.
Because I hadn’t filtered the signal.
I let the dopamine of “someone’s interested” override the cost of wasting time.
The truth is:
A clean “no” early is worth 100 “maybes” late.
Speed doesn’t equal signal.
Not all interest is interest you want.
I don’t talk about this much when I’m writing about AI.
But honestly, this is why I built it.
Because the worst time to qualify a lead...
is after you’ve already convinced yourself they’re worth chasing.
