When I first started learning AI automation, I thought the biggest challenge would be the technology.
Learning APIs.
Building workflows.
Connecting tools.
Writing prompts.
But after spending more time building systems, I've realized something different.
The hardest part isn't the automation.
It's earning enough trust for someone to let you automate a part of their business.
Think about it...
When a client gives you access to their CRM, calendar, email, or customer conversations...
They're not just hiring you to build a workflow.
They're trusting you with a critical part of their business.
That changed how I approach every project.
Now I spend more time understanding:
โ
Their business goals
โ
Their current process
โ
Their biggest frustrations
โ
What success actually looks like
Only then do I start thinking about automation.
One lesson I'm learning:
A workflow can be rebuilt.
Trust is much harder to rebuild.
That's why reliability, communication, and understanding the client's business matter just as much as technical skills.
Technology may win the project...
But trust is what keeps the relationship going.
๐ฌ Question for the Community
What's one thing you do to build trust with a client before you start automating their business?
I'd love to learn from how others approach this. ๐
