I’m trying to engage an n8n automation specialist to help me build workflows that connect Google Sheets and a few other tools.
So far, everyone I’ve spoken to (mostly via Upwork) has asked for my personal Google login details so they can connect my Google Sheet to n8n.
Is this actually standard practice? I can’t imagine many clients being comfortable handing over their personal Google credentials – I’m definitely not.
For those of you who build n8n workflows for clients:
- How do you normally handle access to Google Sheets / Google Drive?
- Do you get clients to:
- What’s the safest, most scalable way to do this so I’m not sharing personal login details with freelancers?
Ultimately, I want a repeatable process for working with automation specialists without giving away my primary Google login.
Would love to hear how you’re doing this (or if you’re an n8n specialist who already has a secure process, feel free to reach out to me if you are looking for a new client).
