Hi guys,
I'm VERY grateful to be here.
I was a programmer in 1979 using FORTRAN on IBM punch cards (before personal computers, etc. we developed). I got into business (options broker for gold, silver, currencies, etc) and stopped (unfortunately, although I'm starting to learn again now).
In 1991 I was invited to have dinner on one of two large yachts, one was owned by the father of a friend and the other by a VERY successful manufacturer of Silicon Chips in Silicon Valley) that were tied up together in the Sacramento Delta for the Hilton (hotel) families Annual 4th of July celebration.
The gentleman at the table to the right asked what I did. I told him and asked him the same.
He said "we are about to release something called the internet" then he spent the next hour or so giving me details, that the internet was military at the time, but that he and his partners were bringing to the private world. He told me about many of the population in the future (again, this was July of 1991), emails, free phone calls and video calls, etc.
I foolishly did not get his contact info or even his name, BUT I watched closely to see if what he was telling me would come to fruition.
By 1996 or so (as memory serves), the things he told me about five years earlier began to happen.
He was probably 65 at the time we had this dinner and I was 30.
I'm aware of many people who became very rich (billionaires) and I "missed that one."
One of the reasons I'm so excited about what Liam Ottley and the community are doing with AI Automation is A) that I believe the opportunity is 1,000x ++ larger than that above and B) I'm fully committed not to "miss this one" and am very excited to be doing so.
On the business side:
I started out as a commodity broker in the early 1980's. In 1984 I met a mentor who taught me how to 10x, quickly, individuals' and teams' production and earnings. In 1989 I decided to take what I'd learned to the non-commodity world. Now, I've spent the last 40 or so years building businesses in many industries including building decorative hardware in Taiwan and China and selling it here, European military surplus, industrial computers / ISA PCI slots, not motherboards, high-speed semiconductor switches for power quality, built and sold the 8 country rights for an MLM in USA / Inc. 500 fastest growing company with 500,000 dealers / the 17th largest salesforce in the US at the time; broke all their records and they bought us back, wanted to get into Private Equity on the value build side after selling my business. Went to Wharton, did the AMP (48), and was one of two out of 60 that wrote the $50k check themselves (this was 2005). Ran an investment bank in Beijing, did a stint as a GP at a multi-billion dollar balance sheet PE fund, have worked (as an Operating Partner with a VC fund whose GP, LP, and Strategic Partner was a 1.5 Trillion dollar Fund of Funds out of Shenzhen China; I was their first Operating Partner. Lived in China and greater China for 12 years.
On the background of the above, I'm excited about and working on creating the team to build and sell AI Automation for companies who have a sales team (likely in the Luxury market, although it's still early to say).
