Welcome
Hi, Welcome to 'Leading With Light'. The aim here is to create a place where we can share inspiring messages, quotes, and personal videos. This community is also your place when you're feeling isolated in your leadership or management journey, where you can connect with friends and people who truly understand. Don't forget to add some fun and joy into the mix as well. For all newcomers, please feel free to work your way through the comments and respond to any and as many as you feel you want to. You don't have to do this all in a hurry. Take your time. In this community, nothing is out of date. Your comment on a previous post could be the very thing someone who has been here for a while could need a reminder of. When you’re ready, introduce yourself. You might use this template if it helps: Hello, I’m from [your location]. Right now, something I’m exploring on my self-development path is [your focus]. I’m looking forward to [something you hope to find or experience here]. Or just create your own first message. Let’s grow, shine, and lead together. 🌱💫 Blessings to you always Sandra
Sharing your trust
Delegation isn't "getting rid of tasks you don't want." Done well, it's one of the most generous things a leader can do, it says "I trust you with something that matters." What steps are you going to do to share your trust this week?
Understanding Your Role of Brilliance
What is your role as a leader? I am blessed to have some really great clients who I support in their careers. There are times when one of them will come up with a fabulous idea and I say to myself, wow, why did I not think of that. This thought does not have to come from a place of jealousy, it can come from a place on genuine appreciation of their brilliance. And sometimes, I have to admit that I did not think of that (whatever it is) because this is not my area of expertise, or the area I am call to work in. In many cases when this happen, I remind myself that my area is in support and in creating an environment where she or he can be safe and allow themselves to create authentically. We all have a different position in the team of leadership and support. Knowing what your role in the team or your friendship circle can stop comparison and jealousy when we see others succeeding. Be proud to stand out where you serve best. Are you clear about your place of support as a leader?

Understanding Your Role of Brilliance
Inclusive listening
Make a decision to be a little more open to the views of others this week. Not that you have to accept those views. It's more about knowing that a different lens on a problem isn't a diversity checkbox, it's often the very thing that catches what everyone else missed. Leadership shaped by lived experience tends to see around corners other leadership can't, opens you up to information you may not have had before. What's a time your different perspective changed the outcome of a decision?

Breath and reflect
Breath. The challenges are there to remind us to focus on the things that are truly important. Friday is the day I use for reflection, realignment and gratitude. In that repeated breath give thanks that your light still shines and that the blessings of life are still pouring in. There is so much to give thanks for. Let's not take what has become the mundane for granted.
