Law of Assumption: What Assumption Really Means and Why People Are Getting It Wrong
Neville Goddard termed the practical use of Divine Imagination, The Law of Assumption. Divine Imagination is, in very basic terms, the True Reality, of which this mortal world is but a shadow. Whatsoever is created in Imagination, will manifest in this world. Neville spent decades trying to explain this to people who had no conception of it, and did a jolly good job. What he didn't do is foresee 21st Century Man. He could not have known how people would distort and bastardise his explanations. For they were explanations. He didn't create The Law of Assumption, he merely named it that. You might call it magic or miracles, but The Law of Assumption does something greater than bring you free goodies without doing all the work. Over time and iteration, it opens your awareness to Divine Imagination, the world of Life. Why did he call it, The Law of Assumption and why is that secretly confusing for people? Assumption has multiple meanings (Cambridge Dictionary): "a willingness to accept something as true without question or proof" We might call that Faith, the loyalty to your unseen (by mortal senses) reality and also "the act of taking control or claiming authority" The vast majority, know only the first definition and think that's what The Law of Assumption is all about. If you want a million dollars, you assume (believe without proof) you have it already and go about your business. All well and good. And then when nothing happens after an hour and a half, head to social media to complain that "I manifested being rich and I'm still poor". Using the first definition = correct, but using it without the second = incorrect. The Law of Assumption is the Law of Being. The Law of Becoming. Not only must you have unshakeable Faith, but you must dwell in the state of you that is rich. Asking "when" or "how" means you're fulfilling neither definition. I know many rich people. I come from a wealthy family. Not one rich person I know sits around drinking pina coladas and playing video games all day on a 90 inch TV with a butler bringing them bonbons. They ALL work a lot because they like being rich. They automatically fulfil both of the definitions of Assumption.
