The Unique Letter 'Ñ'
Did you know the letter 'Ñ' (eñe) is the only letter in the Spanish alphabet that originated in Spain?
It was created by scribes in the Middle Ages as a shorthand for a double 'n' (nn).
So, a word like 'anno' (like Year in Italian) became 'año'!
It's a true symbol of the Spanish language.
