The Arabic Influence is Everywhere
Did you know that over 4,000 words in Spanish come directly from Arabic?
This is a result of the Moorish rule in the Iberian Peninsula for over 700 years.
Many words that start with "al-" are of Arabic origin, like alfombra (carpet), almohada (pillow), and algodón (cotton).
