Building a Bridge to you, My Story isn’t Over

My corporate job laid me off, my contractor destroyed my family home in the sums of 6 figures that I can’t fix, my wife had our second baby, we have no money left. There’s a rat infestation I cleared out of my house, I filled my house with insulation and got sick, my work truck is gone, my former business failed, I developed a crippling phone and fast food addiction, I haven’t seen a friend in a long time with 2 young kids.

But one week removed from being laid off and evaluating the past year, this is my story. My attitude is my altitude. I’m done being the victim.

I believe, as a blue collar middle class guy whose country has taken away his right to get ahead, as a person who has been working so hard and can’t find a home, can’t get a break, that it can change. I can tell my story, and find resilience. I can become the songwriter I’ve dreamed of, and build the best songwriting community since Liverpool, since Nashville, since Seattle.

I can change it all.

Lemon water, simple foods, lots of writing, less phone, good music, and the words and tones and vibrations will find me, and they’ll find you too.

I still believe.

I still have these hands, I have this heart, I have this pen.

I’ll do it every day. I’ll make the way, I’ll make the grade.
