I didn’t find faith in a church.
Faith found me in kitchens… and in the chaos I created trying to fit in.
I never battled the addictions people talk about on TV.
Mine were quieter.
Social.
Acceptable.
Celebrated, even.
Binge drinking.
Partying too hard.
Trying to be “the fun guy.”
Trying to belong.
Trying to drown out insecurity, fear, and all the places I didn’t feel enough.
I hid my hurt behind hustle.
Behind success.
Behind jokes and shots after service.
Behind the chef coat.
And somewhere between the brokenness, the burnouts, the long nights, and the noise…
God kept showing up.
Not to judge me — but to pull me out.
