When Life Doesn't Go As Planned
Last week I lost my job for reasons beyond my control. It wasn't fair, and I was upset—but I didn't drink or use drugs over it. That's progress, not perfection!
Years ago, this kind of setback would have sent me spiraling. Today, I'm learning to live life on life's terms. Sometimes things happen that we don't deserve or can't control, but we always have a choice in how we respond.
My recovery journey has taught me that accepting reality—even when it's painful—is the first step toward peace. I'm not saying it's easy, but it's possible.
Question for our community: How are you living life on life's terms today? Share a recent challenge and how you're facing it without turning to old coping mechanisms.
