Confusing thoughts and patterns
Are you dealing daily with a plethora of very confusing thoughts? Do you pay attention to them? Do they run you? Do you chose them? There are many books talking about the power of your thoughts. The reality of it is that thoughts have a power to build us up or destroy us completly. Just think about your own life. Bring into your memory situations when thoughts helped you deal with a situation, moved you forward, helped you achieve something. Now, bring into your memory these situations when thoughts drove you deeper and deeper into suffering and being miserable and then life’s happenings followed that you called bad luck. But was it just a bad luck? Think about it, if it was just about luck, it would be completly random, but most of the time when you actually think about it, you can pinpoint exact thoughts you had right before the occurrence of “bad luck” and during that time too. Pattern recognition is our power! This is where we can notice things and name them so they make sense. You can pinpoint the exact steps of a pattern once you notice it. Although pattern recognition is a power in itself, it will mean nothing if there’s no follow up: you actually using a pattern to your advantage, you utilize it. Or even, you build new patterns, you create them. But that’s master level stuff. Most of us are just dismissing our thoughts or won’t even notice them. That gives us an option to slide through our life with some illusion of power or control over it.. but, that’s all it is, an illusion. Take back your power, notice your thoughts, notice patterns, and act! Act then based on this powerful information. On the other hand, don’t believe all your thoughts. When you start noticing your thoughts and bring in the awareness into your life, you’ll also notice how many of your thoughts are completely useless, judgmental, scared junk! These are the ones that you will need to eradicate. Exercises: 1. Sit quietly, breathe deeply but calmly, slowly and quietly. Notice your thoughts coming in but don’t give them attention. Let them pass like clouds in the sky… some people call this a meditation. 2. Few times a day start paying attention to your thoughts. If you notice that your mood just suddenly changed, notice what kind of thoughts did you just have. Start noticing patterns. 3. Take a minute to feel gratefulness to yourself for taking a first step to knowing yourself better. With love you’ll move easier :) 4. Thank you!
