Welcome to the General Surgery Education Hub!
As a first-generation physician, I built my career on the support of strangers who believed in me. A scholarship from a committee of supporters sent me to the University of Texas at Dallas, where I discovered science and my path to medicine. Another scholarship, granted by benefactors, took me to Texas Tech’s Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. After residency, Dr. Pamela Lipsett opened the door to a Surgical Critical Care and Trauma/Acute Care Surgery Fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. As an average student who stepped on stones laid by others, I’m here to be that ally for you—offering guidance to become a competent general surgeon. The ACGME’s shift to competency-based training—starting with USMLE Step 1 going pass/fail and now reshaping residency—demands accessible, practical resources. That’s why I’ve created this Skool community and a free Notion hub, compiling tools like a comprehensive general surgery notebook for ABSITE prep, oral board scenarios, trauma/critical care fellowship, and lifestyle tips. My goal? To help you master general surgery as safely and efficiently as possible. Join me to access: - Free Notion Resources: High-yield guides for ABSITE, trauma/critical care fellowships. - Mini Journal Clubs: Discussions on Wiki Journal Club articles. - Oral Board Scenarios: Practice cases to ace your ABS Certifying Exam (CE). - Lifestyle Insights: Real talk on life as a surgeon. Join me as we plant trees for future surgeons to find shade. Drop a comment below—what’s your biggest challenge in surgery training? Follow me on instagram @drjuhng or grab the Notion hub link in my bio. Excited to learn with you!
