Berimbau basics for those who are just starting on your journey. Also a breakdown of my notation.

Weather you're just starting or have years of experience, I promise you, with all my heart. Do these drills, and your life will become easier. Pay attention to the quality of the sound that's coming out. You get better at these drills, playing more advanced patterns, singing, playing louder, and having fun will become much easier. It will help you get more comfortable with the instrument. Just a little every day goes a long way.

17 variation from beginner to advanced. Played on the Gunga, Medio, and Viola with different base toques. Feel free to try the variations on different berimbaus and with different toques. There aren't really rules to this, just preferences.

I think a powerful motivation to train can be the desire to move more freely when you play. One sure way to that goal is to have consistent drills you do on your own. Don't over think it. Even if you only have 10 min, do one of these drills. Consistency is key. Also, by doing something repetitively, you really get to know you body, build muscle memory, and confidence.
