I NEED YOUR HELP...
For my upcoming Gypsy Jazz workshops in Switzerland and in the Cévennes, I have a small challenge to overcome. Since I am a violinist, my workshops naturally fill up with violinists. Yet, what I love above all else is creating genuine interaction between violinists and other instrumentalists. That is why I chose to offer global Gypsy Jazz workshops rather than exclusive jazz violin workshops. The problem is that I am still short on guitarists and double bassists—and why not other instruments—to equip our workshops and get the tunes rolling in real-world conditions! How can you help me? I am relying on WORD-OF-MOUTH. If you know any guitarists or double bassists around you, or other instrumentalists who want to learn gypsy jazz, please tell them about my workshops in Fribourg and in the Cévennes. It is the perfect opportunity to work on accompaniment, la pompe, rhythmic placement, and improvisation within a real collective of musicians. We happily welcome guitarists or other instrumentalists who want to discover the style, as we have several teachers available. As for the double bassists, they will have the luxury of getting individual lessons... 👉 All the info on both workshops and the full schedule of the Sessions Manouches festival are available here: https://www.evaslongo.com/sessions-manouches-links Thank you so much for your help and for sharing, and see you very soon for more music! Ready to improve your jazz playing with me?
👉The Fribourg workshop is just around the corner! It’s a real homecoming for me, and we still have a few spots available, as well as for the concerts organized around the city with some very special guests. Here are the links to join us: - Buy concert tickets - Workshop details and registration I know prices in Switzerland can be high, so if finances are an issue, please don't hesitate to reach out. 👉Update on the Cévennes workshop (August) Single rooms are now fully booked. However, there are still: - 2 spots left in shared rooms - Spots available for camping If you prefer a single room, there are still several rental options available in or around the village if you have a car. More information about the Cévennes workshop HERE 👉Jazz Violin Academy This week, I’ll be teaching two classes on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, Mathilde will lead a session at a slightly calmer pace. And on Thursday, Monica Acevedo will give her second masterclass… She’s going to show us how she blends her voice with her instrument, drawing inspiration from her Spanish roots... Straight from my place in Valencia! It’s a funny coincidence: she’s performing near Valencia this weekend, so I invited her over to my house — and we’re going to make the most of it by hosting this class together using my gear. To join, you just need to upgrade to VIP on the platform. I explain absolutely everything in detail (registration, schedule, how it works, etc.) right here: https://violon-jazz.systeme.io/academie-de-violon-jazz For 7 classes a month, the price is incredibly low (around 6 euros per hour!). I really wish I’d had this kind of opportunity back when I was learning jazz violin... I can't wait to finally meet you, whether online or at one of the workshops!

Last spots for the Valencia workshop! 🎻
Quick update on the "Sessions Manouches" workshop in Valencia (May 1–3). We are filling up fast, but there are still a few spots left if you want to join us in the heart of the city for three days of total immersion in Gypsy Jazz! HERE is a poster of the whole program. I’ll be joined by an incredible team: Federico Nathan and myself on violin, Romain Vuillemin, Jimmy Grant, and Noah Young on guitar, and Matt Baker and Carlos Rubio on double bass. Workshops, concerts, and jams—it’s going to be intense! A quick personal note... Between Valencia, Fribourg, and the Cévennes, I’ve definitely had a bit of "folie des grandeurs" this year! It’s a huge challenge, and to be honest, the budget is tight to cover everything fairly since some grants didn't come through. If you'd like to support this project, I’ve set up a support link. Every bit helps us keep this adventure alive, and I’ll be personally thanking all supporters on social media. Links to join or support us: - 👉 Register for Valencia: https://violon-jazz.systeme.io/sessions-manouches-valencia-en - 👉 See all 3 workshops: https://violon-jazz.systeme.io/workshop - 💖 Support the project: https://buy.stripe.com/8x2eVc48I61u6iY1Lb6kg02 Hope to see you there and swing together!
