Sunday Lick News - Jazz Line Lab
Today I’d love to share a nice lick by Eva Slongo, filmed during the course in Rogues in 2023.
Tonight, I’ll also be sharing a few licks by Tim Kliphuis — licks rooted in the tradition of the great masters such as Grappelli, which I was kindly allowed to record for the Jazz Line Lab lick list, both as video scores and in live sessions.
Tim often says that these licks themselves come from the great masters, and that sharing them is a way of keeping this legacy alive. By learning them and applying them in all 12 keys, they become ready knowledge that naturally flows out in improvisation.

Ce soir, je partagerai également quelques licks de Tim Kliphuis — des licks issus de la tradition des grands maîtres comme Grappelli, que j’ai été aimablement autorisée à enregistrer pour la liste de licks du Jazz Line Lab, à la fois en vidéo-score et en sessions live.
Tim rappelle souvent que ces licks proviennent eux-mêmes des grands maîtres, et que les partager est une manière de faire vivre cet héritage. En les étudiant et en les appliquant dans les 12 tonalités, ils deviennent un savoir prêt à jaillir naturellement dans l’improvisation.
