☕📚 Ocha & Chat — Prep Post
For our next Ocha & Chat, we’ll practise simple everyday sentences in Japanese.
We’ll talk about things we do, things we can do, and things we cannot do.
A key part of today’s mini lesson is the particle を (o).
🧠 Mini Lesson: を
The particle を marks the object of a verb.
In simple terms, it shows what the action is done to.
Pattern:
Noun + を + Verb
Example
本を読みます。
Hon o yomimasu.
I read a book.
本 = book
を = object marker
読みます = read
Negative / Cannot
We can also say something cannot be done.
本を読めません。
Hon o yomemasen.
I cannot read the book.
More Examples
日本語を勉強します。
Nihongo o benkyō shimasu.
I study Japanese.
音楽を聞きます。
Ongaku o kikimasu.
I listen to music.
映画を見ます。
Eiga o mimasu.
I watch a movie.
🫵 Before the Call
Try writing one sentence:
___を読みます。
___を見ます。
___を勉強します。
Example:
本を読みます。
We’ll practise these patterns together during Ocha & Chat ☕🇯🇵
