Who am I, really?

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE — INTIMACY WITH SELF

Last week we established that intimacy with God has to come first.

You cannot pour from an empty cup.

But here is what most wives discover when they start getting filled by God — they realize they do not actually know themselves very well.

They know who they are as a mother.

They know who they are as an employee.

They know who they are as a wife.

But who are they when nobody needs anything from them?

The reality is — a wife who does not know herself will lose herself in her marriage. She will shrink to keep the peace. She will give until there's nothing left. She will look up one day and not recognize the woman in the mirror. And she will blame her husband or circumstances for it.

Psalm 139:14 — "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." (KJV)

That my soul knoweth right well.

Does YOUR soul(mind, will, and emotions) know it?

Or has the weight of a hard marriage made you forget what God placed inside you?

This week is not about your husband at all.

It is about YOU.

Every day this week sit with this one question:

Who am I — outside of my role as a wife, a mother, and an employee?

Not who I used to be. Not who I wish I was.

Who did GOD create me to be?

It is harder than it sounds. Spend this week in His presence, reflecting on it.
