I am young, naive and want to experience life. I have never travelled alone and have no savings. I live in a social media environment where people believe you can explore the world without money, which is the hype topic of 2015. There are youtubers doing challenges - travelling around the planet on 100 dollars. I am inspired, full of energy and want to leave my boring life behind. I still feel like a teenager in my 20s. Very emotional, stubborn and totally fearless. I take my huge backpack, which weighs almost half my body weight, with me on a one-way ticket adventure. So much energy in this little girl with so many unexplored feelings trying to run away from the suffering called being uncomfortable in my own skin. Traumatised but not yet aware of it.
I choose Georgia as my destination - it is cheap, beautiful and many travellers go there. I know there will be gatherings and festivals in the mountains. I cross the whole country, hiking, walking and just meeting people. I have no idea what I want to do with my life, but I feel that I cannot stop even for a second. A restless soul searching for more.
One day I end up pitching my tent at the festival in the woods by the lake. I plan to spend a few weeks there, without civilization or data connection. I meet a guy and we talk about our sporting backgrounds.
He is a former national triathlon champion of Russia. He has ginger dreadlocks and no shoes. He had just served a year in the army and was hitchhiking across the continent to China. For some unknown mission.
One day it started to rain heavily and he asked to share my tent. Because he just had hammoc. We shared my tent for days and slowly got to know each other. We decide to travel on to Turkey with a small group from this gathering. Turkish border guards give him a pair of flip-flops. People call us sister and brother.
In 3 months I will come, but not alone. In 6 months we will get married. We both wanted to travel the world but ended up coming home. I will spend 5 years with this man and go through so many challenges. We will own a small business and have many cool adventures.
