🎷 RECAP: Building a Catalog Ready for Sync
Tonight we got a real look inside one of the biggest music publishers in the world, Warner Chappell.
We broke down how songs actually get placed in film, TV, commercials, and sports, who the decision makers are, what makes a record sync ready, and what separates a good song from a WIN song.
Your homework this week:
  1. Listen to 3 WIN songs. Identify one thing each song does exceptionally well.
  2. Take one of your own songs and make it sync ready. Bounce the instrumental, export your stems, and identify 3 moods that describe the record.
  3. Get your business clean. No uncleared samples. Know your splits. Have the paperwork handled.
  4. Bring one song you truly believe is a WIN song and tell us what you hear it scoring in your head. A movie scene? Commercial? Sports moment? TV show?
This isn’t just about making great music. It’s about making great music that’s ready when the opportunity shows up.
If you’re new here, the free room is open. Bring somebody with you.
