The CAGED system is one of the most useful tools you can have as a guitar player, and in this video I'm breaking it down without any theory headaches. CAGED stands for the five basic open chord shapes on guitar: C, A, G, E, and D. Those same shapes work anywhere on the fretboard. Move them up a few frets and you're playing a completely different chord using a shape you already know. If you feel stuck in the same positions, this is the concept that starts to open everything up.
