Advent as an invitation to open space for what truly matters
Advent was originally the preparation for the arrival of the Messiah, the anointed one in the form of the extraordinary King, who brings true justice, the Savior who brings genuine freedom.
Today this season invites us to pause consciously and prepare ourselves for what is greater than everyday life. With the first Sunday of Advent this time begins, inviting us to stop, to be present in the moment and to notice mindfully where and how the sacred, the wholeness, wishes to enter my life.
Beginning Advent means creating space for the arrival of the new in my life in thoughts, in feelings, in actions. It is an encouragement to clarify priorities, let go of old burdens and open myself to what truly matters.
With every door we open on the Advent calendar we are lovingly invited to take a conscious step toward greater clarity, deeper inner freedom and fuller wholeness. Each day gives us many opportunities to pause consciously, to notice the small signs that may appear timidly yet powerfully and to recognize the changes arising within us.
