Happy 250th Birthday America!
As we head into the 4th of July weekend, many of us will be gathering with family and friends for BBQs, celebrations, and plenty of food and drinks. A friendly wellness reminder: 💧 Hydrate before, during, and after the festivities! Staying well-hydrated can help support energy levels, digestion, and overall well-being—especially in the summer heat. And remember, enjoying a holiday meal doesn't mean you have to feel guilty the next day. Celebrate, savor your favorite foods, and focus on balance rather than perfection. One meal or one day doesn't define your health journey. A few simple tips: ✅ Drink water throughout the day ✅ Eat mindfully and enjoy your food ✅ Listen to your body's hunger and fullness cues ✅ Get some movement in, even if it's just a walk ✅ Focus on making memories, not counting calories The goal is to enjoy the holiday and wake up feeling refreshed—not weighed down by guilt. What's your favorite healthy way to stay balanced during holiday celebrations? Why Do I Smell Like Onions When I Sweat? 🤔🧅
This question came up recently in a perimenopause and menopause support group, and it's a great one! Many women notice changes in body odor during perimenopause and menopause. Hormonal fluctuations can affect how we sweat, and factors like nutrition, hydration, stress, digestion, and overall wellness can also play a role. What I find interesting is that many people immediately ask: "How do I detox?" But here's the thing... Detoxification isn't where we start. In my Foundations to Wellness framework, detoxification is actually Foundation #5, because before the body can effectively eliminate what it doesn't need, we need to support the foundations that come first: ✅ Hydration ✅ Healthy Movement ✅Nourishing Nutrition ✅ Digestion ✅ Detox When these foundational areas are supported, the body's natural elimination processes can function more efficiently. Too often, people jump straight to detox teas, cleanses, or supplements while skipping the basics that support long-term wellness. Instead of asking, "What detox should I do?" ask yourself these questions: 👉 Am I drinking enough water? 👉 Am I moving my body regularly? 👉 Am I supporting healthy digestion? 👉 Am I getting quality sleep? 👉 Am I nourishing my body with whole foods? Sometimes the answers to our biggest health questions begin with the foundations. 💬 Have you noticed changes in body odor, sweating, or other unexpected symptoms during perimenopause or menopause? What have you found helpful? Let's discuss below!

Root Cause Minute
Why Fasting May Backfire Have you ever started intermittent fasting because you heard it would help with weight loss, energy, or inflammation… only to end up feeling shaky, exhausted, irritable, or stuck? Here’s the thing: fasting is not always the right tool for every body at every stage of healing. If your body is already under stress — whether from poor sleep, blood sugar instability, hormone imbalance, chronic stress, under-eating, or nervous system overload — fasting can sometimes add even more stress to the system instead of supporting it. For some people, especially women, the body may respond by increasing stress hormones like cortisol, which can contribute to:• fatigue• brain fog• cravings• dizziness• disrupted sleep• stubborn weight retention This doesn’t necessarily mean fasting is “bad.” It means we have to look at the whole person and ask:• Is the body feeling safe enough to adapt?• Is blood sugar stable?• Is the nervous system regulated?• Is the body properly nourished? Sometimes the root issue is not a lack of discipline — it’s that the body needs support before more restriction. Healing is never one-size-fits-all. #RootCauseMinute #HolisticHealth #IntermittentFasting #WellnessEducation #RootCauseHealing #FunctionalWellness #StressAndHormones #Women’sWellness
